Welcome to the Galata Website.
Here you will find our extensive stock of new and secondhand numismatic books for sale. Many of them are one off, out of print items. Click on 'Books for Sale' or 'Coins for Sale' in the panel on the left, then choose a category to browse our stock. Or use the 'search' box. Please note that for technical reasons beyond our control it is not possible to include accents on titles in foreign languages, as this disables the search function.
Please read notes on Ordering & Delivery (click words on left-hand panel). For customers in GB and Europe the delivery charge will be automatically calculated and added to the total.
If you are outside Europe, please email us about your order and we will contact you to let you know the charge for delivery which varies according to country.
How do you know if a book is new or used ? Simple. If it doesn't say 'new', it isn't. What is it like if it doesn't say anything about the quality ?
If nothing is mentioned, it is good, clean secondhand quality, nothing missing, nothing falling off. You can also look at the picture. We photograph all of our books and give accurate descriptions of the books for sale if there are blemishes - or good features. The image is of the actual book being sold - unless we have more than one in stock, in which case we describe and illustrate the least good example, so you may get one that is better than described or illustrated.
All of the items offered for sale in the OFFPRINTS section are PB unless otherwise stated.
We too are collectors. We are members of the Royal Numismatic Society, British Numismatic Society, Oriental Numismatic Society and the British Art Medal Society. We understand the needs of the collector.
Galata Print Ltd also publishes Numismatic Books. We are the authors of many publications on coins and tokens.
In 2000 we were awarded a bronze medal by the AIPN for our book on 19th-century copper tokens. The Galata Guide to the Pennies of Edward I & II was awarded the Royal Numismatic Society's Lhotka Memorial Prize in 2006, The Token Book won the same Prize in 2011, and also in 2010 the British Numismatic Society awarded us the J J North Medal for our services to numismatic publishing.
