H A Seaby. London, 1st edition, 1952. HB iv + 137 pages. Illustrated throughout with good line drawings.
This covers the silver coins of the Republic from the earliest times to the imperatorial period from Pompey the Great to Augustus.
This is a series of five volumes begun in 1952 by H A Seaby. It deals exclusively with the Roman silver coinage from the Republic through to Romulus Augustus.
The first part of this volume is based on the works of Babelon and the second on Cohen, so the coins are listed in alphabetical order of the reverse legends, which makes for fast and easy finding.
Secondhand. D/jkt spine rather faded and the edges a little nibbled, otherwise the contents are very good and clean.
