TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

ORDERING You may order by telephone, post, fax, or e-mail. Ordering implies full acceptance of all of our terms and conditions below.

ALTERNATIVES As we have in many instances only one of each of the items offered, some of the coins or books that you want may not be available. It therefore helps to avoid disappointment if you state alternatives. Your first choice will always be sent if it is available. We do not send alternatives unless asked to do so.

PHONE You may order or check the availability of items by 'phone, but please note that we cannot guarantee to be 100% accurate. We are available 09.00 - 18.55. At other times you may leave a message on our answer-phone. Please state your name, telephone number and address clearly and the catalogue numbers that you want. A FAX facility is also available on this number 24 hours.

DISCOUNTS are given to bona-fide full time professionals only.

CALLERS Callers are welcome, but please ring first to ensure that we are here and that what you want to look at is available.

BOOKS are not sent on approval, except by prior arrangement.

AUTHENTICITY To the best of our knowledge, ability and experience, all items offered for sale are genuine and as described. Any item found to be a forgery may be returned to us within three years of the invoice date when the full purchase price will be refunded. Under no circumstances can the liability on our part exceed the purchase price. Any coin described as 'contemporary counterfeit' may be understood to be contemporary with the original issue, or thereabouts, and not a modern fake made to deceive a collector.

APPROVAL Coins may be sent out on approval at our discretion, and may be returned to us within seven days of receipt if not entirely satisfactory. Customers not known to us may order and the items will be reserved for them until a cash deposit is received covering the full amount of the order. Suitable bank or trade references may be acceptable to us.

Please do not be offended by us asking for your cheque before the goods are sent - this is our standard practice.

RETURNED ITEMS All items returned must be in the same condition as received and must be accompanied by the original invoice.

ITEMS SENT TO US FROM OVERSEAS If you send coins or goods to us from overseas, please note that you must make a correct customs declaration as to the contents of the package, including its value. It does not help us in any way to have a lower value placed on the packet - and a mis-declaration may result in the seizure of the contents - for which you will be responsible, not us. You have been warned !

POSTAGE COINS - Inland £1- £30: Sent at your risk, first class post 50p; or recorded delivery £1

£30 - £500: Sent by registered post £4. Overseas Registered insured air mail, charged at cost to us plus £1

POSTAGE BOOKS - According to weight and destination plus a packing charge.

PAYMENT Payment is expected as quickly as possible after acceptance of the goods, and certainly no later than one month after invoice date. All items remain our property until payment has been made in full. Compound interest at the rate of 2% per month will be charged on all unpaid invoices.

Payment may be made in cash, personal cheque, bank draft or money order. We also accept payments through PayPal. Please let us know your email address, and we will send a request for payment.

Clients will be credited only with the amount which we receive from the sale of a foreign cheque, or on cheques on which the bank makes a clearing charge.

Clients wishing to pay directly to our bank should ensure that they pay any transfer or conversions charges.

All cheques, postal orders, bank drafts etc., should be made payable to GALATA COINS or GALATA PRINT LTD depending on the name at the head of the invoice.

Prepayment. If you send a cheque in prepayment of your order, please do not make your cheque out for any specified amount. Work out what the total is (not forgetting to add sufficient to cover and postage). Mark your cheque "Not over £xx" which is the maximum you want to spend.

DOLLAR CHEQUES We accept personal dollar cheques, but insist that we set the exchange rate, at what our bank pays us, plus a very small amount added to cover our bank's charges to us. All dollar cheques must be made out to PAUL WITHERS

We are happy to accept danish personal cheques in kroner, but once again we will set the exchange rate.

GRADING All coins, tokens, etc. are strictly described according to traditional conservative european standards. U.S. coins are described according to standards laid down in 'Official A.N.A. Grading Standards for United States Coins'. We mention faults such as scratches, pitting, metal or minting flaws such as off-centre striking, cracks, die flaws etc.
