This was sold in two parts : Part 1, sold over eight days. Italy, Sicily, European Greece, Crete, etc. 155 pages, 1258 lots (+ 8 plates). Part 2 iv + 104.: Asia Minor Africa etc. The pages have been interleaved throughout with the fine illustrations neatly cut from the plates and affixed to the interleaves for ease of reference.
Both volumes are in a 1950s neat, professional French binding, red cloth with brown cloth and hand-marbled paper, black morocco label, gilt. The top and bottom of the spine are just a trifle worn. A nice copy. From the library of Count Chandon de Briailles with his neatly-engraved label on endpaper; with the green ink ownership stamp of Docteur Henry Longuet, and the ex-libris of George Le Rider.
