Pepys, in his diaries, mentions about 90 London taverns, some of which, so far as is known, did not issue tokens. However, 80 of them did, and the author has researched those from primary sources, and gives, as far as possible, their location, the name of their landlord and other details.  A book that makes the grubby pieces of metal speak.
