from the Earliest Period of Authentick History to the Reign of Victoria. Rogers Ruding, Third (best) edition, London, 1840. 3 volumes. Almost a thousand pages, with plates, fold-out map (this is loose but complete) and the like. All plates including the supplementary ones. 210 x 284mm.
Expertly (professionally) rebound in modern green cloth. Spines with gilt titles. The first five plates a little stained on the left edge, otherwise most are nice and clean, with very little foxing ! The cover of volume 1 a little marked with tippex (?) and the others a little dusty, otherwise a very nice bright clean set, with stout, solid bindings, and the bookplates of David Griffiths.
