from the Earliest Period of Authentic History to the Reign of Victoria. John Jearne, London. 3rd (best) edition, 1840. 3 volumes. I. xx + 422pp + plan of the mint buildings + a fold-out map of the UK and the western part of France. II. 520pp. III. Ca 159 plates, including all of the supplementary plates. 210 x 278mm.
This is one of the best and most informative books ever written on British coins.
Expertly recently rebound in modern brown cloth, spines with gilt titles. Most plates a little foxed on their backs, and some on their fronts. Some pages are a little yellowed, otherwise this is a nice clean set, with the bindings nice and tight.
