M Greensword. 1993. A4 size, PB 57pp, detailed descriptions but no illustrations.
Evasions are imitations of 18th century regal halfpennies and farthings, or tokens, but instead of risking prosecution and producing exact replicas, the makers of these light-weight coins took advantage of the illiterates of the population by having legends such as GEORGE RULES in place of GEORGE III, they also imitated the more common tokens of the day. Some of the more intrepid of the makers even issued political pieces.
Mr Greensword has collected and studied this highly complex series for many years.
New.
