AR 35.3mm.  Tower mint under Parliament,  Halfcrown, im sceptre. CAROLVS· D: G[: MA]G: BRI: [FRA:] ET· HIB: REX · King on horseback riding left holding an upright sword.

The initial mark sceptre was used for 1646-8. This particular variant is not in Brooker. The reverse legend translates as 'I reign under the auspices of Christ', indicating that  Charles believed that having been crowned and anointed he ruled with the blessing of the Almighty.
