Emneth is a fenland village SW of the A47 between Peterborough and King's Lynn. It is in the County of Norfolk, on the R. Nene and close to the Cambridgeshire border
Its best known inhabitant is Tony Martin, who in 1999 was living in an isolated farmhouse in Emneth Hungate, when two burglars broken in. Mr Martin shot both of them. One of the scum died and Martin was charged with murder and found guilty. Most folk, however, felt that he should have been given a medal.
