An historical survey of the english coinage along with a classified description of the coins. One of the best introductions to the subject for the beginner, and a source of information even for the advanced collector.  The treatment of modern coins in this book is rather brief.

Some foxing, esp. to the edges and prelims, otherwise a nice copy with a clean d/j.
