All later editions have been straight reprints of this ed. though the pl. have not been as good.  

An historical survey of the english coinage along with a classified description of the coins. One of the best introductions to the subject for the beginner, and a source of information even for the advanced collector.  The treatment of modern coins in this book is rather brief.

Spine faded, d/j torn. Edges and prelims spotty, contents otherwise fine.
