C Wilson Peck 1964 2nd ed. 666 pages + 50 superb plates. 202 x 252mm.
Standard reference work on the subject.
This volume describes the English Copper, Tin and Bronze Coins in the British Museum, including patterns and proofs struck between 1558 and 1958, which are in the British Museum. Coins in several other public and private collections are included if they were not represented in the BM collection at the time.
This work, which is one of the great numismatic works of all time shows exactly how to do it. Scientifically, with exact, clear descriptions, superb photographs and big enlargements. Written by a collector who had collected the series for forty years. This was probably the work that started the big coin collecting boom in the 1960s when the general public discovered that there were rare coins out there to be discovered.
No d/j. Boards a little marked, but the contents very good and clean.
