Silver denier 0.86 gram. 19.9 mm. +GVILILMO in centre, four crosses.  Rv: +BVRDEGVLA cross pattée within inner circle. Boudeau 464; Poey d'Avant Pl. LIX 2, cf 2735. Slightly irregular flan, but as it left the mint, nothing missing. Bold Good Very Fine.

Before leaving on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela where he died, William entrusted his duchy and his daughter and heir, to the care of Louis VI le Gros (1108-1137). Louis, the king's son, married Eleanor of Aquitaine, William's daughter, in 1137.
