Brass, 38.8mm diameter. 1811 A CALENDAR Sunday Figures above square table with numbers, maker's name P, KEMPSON & SON. BIRM in lower right corner. R. Eclipses, NEW MOON, FULL MOON etc. Lines have been excised around the tables both sides, perhaps to make them clearer, and a few dates highlighted by circles and other marks. Good - fair.
See Silke Ackerman, 'Calendar Medals in the British Museum', The Medal, no. 45, Autumn 2004. The examples in the British Museum are named P. Kempson dated 1797 - 1798, after this the name changes to KEMPSON & KINDON 1803-1809. This type is not in the BM.
The name Kempson & Son was in use 1810-24.
