An account of the development and use of money in Wales, concentrating on the cattle drovers and the first private banks.  The pioneers in banking in this field were the Aberystwyth and Tregaron Bank, known as Banc y Ddafad Ddu (the Black Sheep Bank) because the notes depicted ewes.
