This is a new catalogue of the royal farthing tokens of James I and Charles I, the first published for over 40 years, including important previously unpublished contemporary documentation and accounts. 
Illustrated with enlarged (2.5:1) photographs for easy recognition and identification, but in addition to the big (40-45mm diameter) photographs, important features are illustrated by line drawings to draw attention to their location on the coins.
Nearly 100 contemporary counterfeits are identified and catalogued for the first time.
Use and non-use of these pieces in Ireland and America is fully covered.
