Charles Lewis Stainer.  Published for the Oxford Historical Society by the Clarendon Press, first (only) edition, 1904. HB (dark blue cloth with gilt-lettered spine and cover).  xlv + 94 pages + 15 excellent collotype b&w plates. No. XLVI in their series of publications.  Catalogues pennies of most of the twenty English monarchs from Æthelstan to Henry III.  140 x 218mm. The cover slightly marked, the free endpapers have the inner side foxed due to the glue (they are all like this). Otherwise, the contents are very good to fine.

On the 6th May, 1915 Second Lieutenant Charles L Stainer of the 4th Battalion of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry was promoted to temporary Lieutenant.  LG.
