Seth W Stevenson, revised by C Roach Smith and completed by F W Madden. 1964 repr. of the 1889 ed. 937pp. A veritable mine of information, this is the most comprehensive dictionary of roman coin types, legends, persons, emperors, etc., ever published as a single volume. Much of the information included here for students of the roman coinage is not to be found assembled so easy and comprehensive a fashion elsewhere.
A notable feature is are the upwards of 700 line engravings which illustrate most types as well as the entries for the emperor and members of his family.
This work has been popular for more than a century and is still an indispensable reference work for students, researchers and collectors of roman coins.
Highly recommended.
