Æ Penny.  36.3mm.  STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY around kiln building with workman in front, 1813 in exergue.  R. FOR PUBLIC ACCOMMODATION around, ONE PENNY TOKEN in centre.  W 1085. Rare.  The usual surface marks, otherwise AVF-VF.

A large and heavy piece, the same size as the Birmingham Union Copper Company issues. The same die was used too, W 359.

This coin was sold by a well-known English dealer in 2003 described as 'Good VF'.
