PB Printed card covers.  xxv + 236 pages + map.  Illustrated throughout with b&w illustrations of the tokens in the text, and reproductions of postcards of some of the locations.  204 x 300mm.  The front cover has considerable signs of use. Rear cover grubby and creased, last five pages have the bottom right corners slightly bent, otherwise internally good and clean. 

Although there is a later volume in this series, It is still essential to have this for the illustrations, which do not re-occur in the later revised edition. 

Has details of public house checks, tavern tokens issued throughout all of Wales, including the following counties: Anglesey (1), Brecknock (14), Caernarvonshire (3) Cardiganshire (?1), Carmarthenshire (14), Flintshire (7), Glamorgan (328), Merioneth (1), Monmouthshire (147), Montgomeryshire (6), Pembrokeshire (13), Radnorshire (1). The number following the county name is the number of items known for that county.
