Known as RIC this is the standard reference used worldwide.
The object of this work is to present for the student, or collector the coinage of imperial Rome classified by mints and date. Thus being very different from the alphabetical order of reverse legend favoured by Cohen, which the authors realised had to change if a greater understanding of roman coins was to be achieved. To this end each volume has a series of indexes so as to make coins easy to find.
A general introduction at the beginning of each volume deals with the mints, the money system, types, how the reigns are arranged.
