The dust jacket says:
Richard Dalton's catalogue of silver tokens, issued by private companies, bankers and individuals at a period in the early nineteenth century when there was an acute shortage of official currency, was originally published in 1922. It is virtually complete and has remained the standard catalogue on the series. It is now reprinted together with a list of current values.
The original printing was only 200 copies, so this reprint was much needed.
