Two antique original plush-covered card trays with padded backs, for a set of 40 medals. The case would have been in the form a leather case that looked like a book, with the trays inside. The medals were struck by E. Thomason.
Several different sets were produced: The Kings and Queens of England, BHM 1437 and Mudie's National Medals, BHM 1057.
27.2 x 21.7cm, each tray with 20 holes, 41mm diameter. The number labels gilt on red leather. Pale blue lifting ribbons. The silk on the backs of the trays frayed at the edges.
