Published by the British Museum. 1st edition, 1924.  HB (printed heavy blue card covers with silver-lettered spine and cover).  xii + 322 pages + a frontispiece and 16 b&w plates and illustrated throughout in the text with 217 b&w photographs and excellent line drawings.   The top edge dusty and the spine is faded and cracking, the contents slightly foxed, with some pencil annotations nd corrections, otherwise generally clean and good.   

Almost everything seems to be covered from the 11th to the 18th centuries: Arms & armour, astrolabes, badges, signs, clocks and watches, censers, cups, jugs, enamels, forks, metalwork, Battersea enamels, magic charms, mazers, seals, spurs, pilgrim's badges, monumental brasses, measures, armorial pendants, seals and seal matrices, plaquettes, jugs and skillets and other domestic utensils, locks and keys, massive knockers, jewellery including Jewish betrothal and puzzle rings, tobacco boxes and related objects, ivory carvings, etc.  Warning!  This book is seriously addictive and informative.
