Silver 27.6mm diameter, 10.26 grams. ROYAL EXCHANGE OPENED BY H: M: QUEEN VICTORIA  OCT: 28 1844 Her young diademed head left, A & M on truncation.  Rv. FIRST STONE LAID BY H·R·H· PRINCE ALBERT JAN.Y 17 1842 around grasshopper above three shields of arms over oak and laurel branches, H.HYAMS. LONDON below.   Rare.  Attractive multi-coloured toning, almost FDC

A close copy of BHM 2186, Eimer 1392, WE 448.3, Fieron 295.2, by W.Wyon, but that has the obverse signed W.W. on truncation, and a continuous reverse legend in larger, wider letters.
