In his hand, a crown of thorns and scroll with a motto on ribbon CHRISTI· TRACTO·  Rv. IMMOTA TRIVMPHANS on scroll over rock buffeted by winds and waves, all incuse in imitation of engraving.  M.I. 1, 342, 191.  Suspension loop missing, slightly bent, dark toned, almost Very Fine/Good Fine.  Extremely Rare.

This medal was cast and chased by Thomas Rawlins, a pupil of Nicholas Briot, and appointed Engraver at theTower Mint in 1643.
