This catalogue of the Anglo-Saxon coins in the British Museum, first published in 1887 and 1893, was out of print for many years. Many important rarities are contained in this unrivalled collection and, though many additions have been made to the collection in the intervening years, BMC is still widely quoted and used as a basic work of reference - particularly for coins of the period prior to 975 AD.
