Leverington is a civil parish formerly in the hundred of Wisbech, in the fenlands of Cambridgeshire, it is just 2 miles north-west of Wisbech. Its population was 2,914 in 2001 census.

The surname Murfitt has been known in the area for a long time. There is now no trace of these particular Murfitts who were almost certainly fruitgrowers, but we have not tried directories of the 1960s and early 70s.
