J W Burrows.  2d  Brass 24.0mm.  Grained edge. A 19th century product.  Holed, with a 4.5mm oval hole made after striking, presumably to revalue, or revalidate for a different issuer ?  GF, or better*.

Wisbech St Mary is a small village, 3 km west of Wisbech in Cambridgeshire. It lies between the B1169 and the A47.  It has an excellent website which is well worth a visit.  My own village, which claims to be a town, has nothing in comparison.

*What does a description like this grade mean ?  It usually indicates that we have a small quantity, and this is the grade of the worst, so you may well get one that is better.
