HB  Contemporary pre-war quarter red leather and marbled boards, gilt spine with raised bands, bound retaining the original card covers and spine. Hand-marbled endpapers.  Top board scruffed and the edges of the boards a little worn. Three pages have short tears. The original owner has made a few useful additions and annotations in a very neat hand in indian ink. Otherwise the contents very good, bright and the binding tight.  A previous owner's inscription saying that he bought it from Spink in 2004 for £150. 

This is a much used reference work that is still frequently quoted.
