These tickets are placed to Liverpool on the authority of D T Batty (1825-96): Batty’s Descriptive Catalogue of the Copper Coinage of Great Britain, Ireland, British Isles and Colonies, Local & Private Tokens, Jettons, &c., vol. 2, p.545, nos. 199-202. There has also been a suggestion that they were used in New York. However, it must be said that they could have been used anywhere – and probably were.
