JUBILEE MEDAL  CHRIST CHURCH  MAY FAIR  JUNE 1887 in five lines.  WE 2171A.  Very Rare.  Pierced for suspension as usual, light scratch marks in field, edge nicks and light knocks, otherwise Good VF and some original lustre.

For Queen Victoria’s Jubilee Celebration in 1887 about £190 was raised by public subscription and expended on the Recreation Ground, which was very rough, to level and improve it, and entrance gates put up, as a permanent memorial of the event. A great dinner for adults and tea for children was given in, with a large bonfire in the evening.
